CHAPTER SIX

Ana began to get used to living with these new people in her life, she had more freedom living here than when she was with her mother, she was doing things freely and she was revered by all in the building and sometimes they showed it excessively, some went as far as bowing and kneeling for her. The older ones amongst the resistance members saw the similarities in her and her father the overthrown leader of the land, who was killed by his own brother. She was being prepared day and night on how to practice magic and how to fight by the young handsome leader of the resistance, he was always stern and strict whenever she was with him, but whenever he was amongst his clique he was the jovial and lively one. Ana knew she liked him, this had happened immediately she set her eyes on him and she also knew he liked her, she felt the connection between the two of them but he never really expressed his feelings for her, he was more concerned about liberating his people from the tyrannical rule of the league of witches of the north end. She had heard of the story that he lost every member of his when the usurper usurped her father and he barely escaped death because he was only a little baby then, but when he grew up he was told of his story wherever he went to, this made him determined to end this tyrannical rule in the city.

All his life he had been full of regrets because he believed his life should have been taken along with his parents and his only sister lives when the tyrannical uncle of Ana had ordered that everyone who did not support him should be killed. He was supported by the league of witches of the north end, they carried out all his executions for him, they were and still are the only ones allowed to practice magic in the city. He set out to work very early in his life with the determination of seeking revenge when the time was right. He had tried to carry out the revenge mission alone before but he barely escaped with his life, the Covent where the leader stayed was heavily protected with magic that he had passed law for it not to be practiced. He went back and started planning all over, only that this time he was not alone, he gathered other aggrieved witches and wizards that did not belong to the league of witches of the north end and members of the city who were also tired of the oppression. He became the de-facto leader of the resistance as result of his knowledge about the palace and the resources he possessed. He practiced magic and fighting skills day and night preparing for a day he hoped would come very soon, he did this because the building in which they were camped had been a fortress long before
